Dr. Nidal Malik Hasan's Psychological Analysis - Suicidal Enforcement of Sharia Law or Workplace Violence?

On the fateful day of 5th November 2009, a raving Dr. Nidal Malik Hasan loaded up his weapons and headed to his clinic at Fort Hood. It was not the same peaceful, amiable, army psychiatrist who was popular among officers and soldiers. Au contraire, this man was wearing a pugnacious scowl, had a moonstruck glint in his eyes and was determined to die.

Hasan had been deranged by a suicidal desire to kill as many servicemen as possible. According to tenets of Sharia law, it behooves Muslims to fight and kill “infidels” who are fighting with them (Muslims).  He also believed that "Islam was brought to prevail over other religions"

“And fight in the way of Allah against those who fight with you” (2:190)
“Kill the infidels (non-Muslims) wherever you find them” (9:5)

It was readily apparent that the individuals killed or injured by Nidal were “infidels”, as they were being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in order to ostensibly “fight with Muslims”. Ergo, it was incumbent upon Hassan to “fight” them and kill as many fellow soldiers as he could.

In his confessional statement, Dr. Nidal said: “I, Nidal Malik Hasan, am compelled to renounce any oaths of allegiances that require me to support/defend (any - sic) man made constitution (like the constitution of the United States) over the commandments mandated in Islam ... I therefore formally renounce my oath of office ... this includes my oath of U.S. citizenship.”

It is worthy of note that Dr. Nidal is not the first Jihadist who divested himself of US citizenship. Adam Yahiye Gadahn, another senior Jihadist from Oregon, renounced his citizenship in 2008. Are Jihadists realizing that their US citizenship is inimical to their interests and Sharia laws is diametrically incongruent to US constitution?

Alas, it was a day of infamy for all of us. A day on which a thought reformed man, widely venerated as an accomplished psychiatrist, succumbed to his own seemingly unfathomable, irremediable, psychological disorders and went on a killing spree. A day on which a decorated officer suddenly morphed into a diehard jihadist who had nothing but veritable contempt for human life, US constitution, US Army oath of enlistment and American values. So far, more than $4 M have been expended on the trial of this man (this amount includes $291,000 which were paid to Dr. Nidal Malik Hasan after 5th November 2009 and a considerable sum of $2.1 M was paid to the legal team dedicated solely to Hasan’s case). On the other hand, it seems that this man has achieved all of his objectives. He killed and maimed a number of our troops who were about to be deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, impelled our govt to waste tax payer’s money on his case and succeeded in getting death penalty. He is now calmly awaiting his death so he can reap the promised rewards in the afterlife (including Jannat and curvaceous women of paradise).  No one can cure or castigate a suicidal man by sentencing him to death. In actual fact, such actions are only going to spawn more suicidal radicals.

We are indubitably the richest nation on this planet but even a wealthy nation like us can ill-afford to lose $4+ M and several trained soldiers for every Jihadist infiltrator. We clearly need a more effective and economical approach for weeding out these double agents or we will unwittingly continue serving the interests of this pernicious coterie.
